Does such a thing exist? You know, a mat of plastic mesh with points on it that would stick up and prevent the dogs from lying down in your garden, or digging up a cool spot to lie in.....does such a product exist?

Someone told me that those plastic things that you put around a chair in the office would work...it has those tiny sticky things pointing up and they hurt to walk on....and it works for cats too I hear!! And you can buy it any length you want. You may want to try a sample piece and try it!!

Yes, they're called X-Mats. Forget who makes them but my petstore carries them. They're about 18 inches square and have a hundred or so very sharp spikes sticking up.
