( I posted this on meatrabbits so if you have allready seen this post please skip over it ) had another doe this morning who had 9 babies on the wire and they were all frozen...she was on day 34 she made no nest and pulled no fur, this was her first litter.....is that common in first litters ?? Also one of the babies was a peanut, it wasnt all the way formed, how did this happen and will it happen in subsequent litters ? Then one last question, I have a rabbit that I am not sure if she is bred or not but when I feel her stomach I can feel some large nipples, is that a sign of pregnancy or is it just normal in some rabbits ? Thanks, Tiffany
Hi, yes this is a common occurance for 1st time moms. They just don't get the timing right or something, then next time you wouldn't believe its the same rabbit! Checking for preg. gently feel their belly..marbel like lumps, or in two weeks give them some hay and see if they do the "hay dance"..bobbing their heads up and down with the hay in their mouths. If none of this happens then put them back in with the buck. Good Luck, jr05
