before you lend it out?
Yup, ABSOUTELY. Good Books cost Real Money.
Many of the Books I have I use for reference or
DSW & I both have rubber-stamps, with our Names on them,
that we Stamp in the books a couple places, fronts peice or
Title Page, Page eleven and on the Last printed page.
I haven't lost very many in the 50+ years I have loaned out Books.
Have a good-un
One of my favorite movie lines comes from 'Out of Africa' where Robert Redferd is asked if he'd loose a friend over a book that was not returned and he replied,
"No, but he did."
Sure. Movies too! Our large extended family all make up "book and movie" lists of what we each have. IT's posted, and then anyone in the family who would like to borrow one(or more)just lets the one know who has the particular film(s) or book(s)..it(they) will be sent to them. They can then just take their time reading or watching and return when they are done.
We also have trades. It's fun.
Also, I am of the mind that one of the most rewarding things about a good book or film is sharing them with someone else who will like them too. I just sent off some books to a friend in Australia to read.
So, we have to put our names on them.
I just started labeling mine, because they are going to be used by some volunteers. I just started a local chapter of Quilts for Kids (www.quiltsforkids.org), and the volunteers will be using them for pattern suggestions, lessons, applique, etc. I want to make sure that everything I take with me to the meetings, comes home with me!!!
