For fun I'd thought I do a poll like this.

I personally can't stand goatees, I like a full beard or no facial hair at all. Sometimes a mustache too :)

    I like a full beard.
DH had a thick black one when we met. :)
When he shaved it off, I suddenly felt like I was married to a stranger. :nono:
He refuses to grow it back now cause he says it would be grey. :Bawling:
Grey is a nice color, but he don't believe me. :grump:

There's nothing more manly than facial hair on a man, as long as it's kept neat and tidy.

My son has a short goatee. I probably wouldn't recognise him without it! His father had a full beard, kept short.

I prefer a dark beard, not a fair one. I prefer elderly men to be clean-shaven.

One of the lesser thrills for post-menopausal women is the onset of facial hair. I don't think it looks good on a woman.

I like them on most men. My husband has had a full beard and mustache most of the time we've been married. He keeps them nicely trimmed.

I like clean shaven or maybe a beard if it is kept very well trimmed. Goatee's remind me of the devil.

Fu Man Chu(sp?) fan myself. Some men look good with facial hair as long as it is clean and trimmed neat. OT - I prefer hair above the collar too.

I prefer a man with facial hair of any type - good thing I guess as my husband's beard is about to his belly! Facial hair is very manly IMHO. I prefer it groomed (as my husband's is) but I will typically take ungroomed facial hair on a man to none at all. I just like a hairy face for some reason

I wasn't keen on him growing a beard at first, but now--after 13 years with it--I love my husband's full beard n mustache, which he keeps trimmed short. It was black n it's now salt n pepper, with more salt than pepper--very coolie.

Hubby has one and I love it on him.

He tried growing a beard, but that didn't work.

While trimming it one day he shaved a little too much off one side, so he kept the mostache and shaved the bottom half. He stepped out of the bathroom and I told him to march right back in and take it ALL off. He grew it back and has since been *much* more careful with his razor.

Edited to add- Facial hair vs. clean shaven in general? That is different. It all depends on the man, his facial structure, etc... I don't really care one way or another.

DH wears a goatee and a moustache, and it looks wonderful on him! I can't imagine him without them -- and I've only seen pictures of him with no facial hair from when he was younger.

He is also balding on top (think tonsure, like St. Francis of Assisi) so he shaves his head smooth -- and he has a fantastically well-shaped head.

Okay, that's enough swooning over my sweetie's good looks. I am going to go and give him a BIG kiss now!

ETA: DH just informed me that the style in which he wears his facial hair is called a Van Dyke. So, that's what he has and that's what I like!

    Pony!
