Do newborn piglets automatically know . . .

    that Mom means food, even if the most warmth is elsewhere (creep area)? I'm just wondering how much intervention is going to be necessary to keep newborns fed and warm. Thanks!

    The second they pop out they are programed to find the teat and start nursing. It's pretty amazing how they know where to go. Piglets are programed to get their needs met. I worry more about a sow not being a good mother and squishing them than anything else.

    Mother takes care of her own. Sems like they have some kind of radar for a teat.
