Do beans require pollination....

    by insects? Just wondering if I can cover them with something. Someone is chewing the tops off the plants!! :(

    Beans are mostly self polinated. Insects do some polinating, but are not required.

    We have pole beans growing on cattle panels, and the Japanese Bettles are eating all the top leaves. Did you look to see what was doing it? A good washing with the garden hose knocks most of them off and they seem to not return.

    Haven't found the culprit....but it just likes to eat the top!! :confused:
