    Hi,
drove nearly 2 hrs to get my kid a certain kind of dog--yes I know humane society is full of dogs, but we need a dog who doesn't shed, etc etc, due to allergies in the home. Anyway, met the breeder, got the dog, plus rabies tag & paper from vet visit. Got home, and just to check, emailed her & asked if the dog had done all his distemper. She said no, just rabies. Does dog (he's 3 and half months) still need distemper and does it still have to be done at certain length intervals? Also, he got his rabies last Friday, how long do I need to wait to start the distemper shots? My vets always stressed the need for distemper, and my dogbreeder friend also says they're important, so I know it's not a money making thing, if she says so.

    Any one? Thanks,
    Sherry

Yes the initial DHPP shots are important. This is when the pup is the most prone to those diseases. He will need 2 shots about 3 weeks apart. I would definitely schedule an appointment with your veterinarian soon.
