Did Kraft discontinue green goddess salad dressing?

We eat green salads fairly often and we keep 5 or 6 flavors of store-bought salad dressing in the fridge.

Recently, I emptied the bottle of Kraft green goddess, and I looked for a bottle of it the next time I was in Walmart. Hmmm. They had none and no place marked on the shelf for it.

So next time I was in Kroger, I looked for it and same thing: None.

I have been back a few times thinking that the stores were just out of it, but after a month of checking I am wondering if Kraft has discontinued it.

Is the name "Green Goddess" offensive like "Aunt Jemima Syrup"?

Is there a recall like "Jiff Peanut Butter"?

I Googled and found nothing about a recall or discontinuing it.

I can still order Kraft Green Goddess online (it's not cheap and I will never order it online), and I see Walmart sells it in their Great Value line. I also see a few other obscure brands for sale online.

I haven’t seen it in stores for a long time.
Subway that had a big Green Goddess campaign not that long ago so I don't think it's discontinued.
Green Goddess dressing is a recipe, like chocolate chip cookies.

The OP meant Kraft, I think. Other manufacturers have a GG variety, but I liked Kraft, too.
$15.84 for 6 bottles of Kraft Green Goddess with free shipping (prime) - which figures out to $2.64 a bottle. Amazon has it in stock. Amazon - Kraft Green Goddess Or you can buy individual bottles of Kraft Green Goddess For $2.52 a bottle at Walmart if they have it available (and Walmart shows it as Not Available. walmart kraft Green Goddess

For me the choice would be clear - 6 bottles from Bezos-mart....errrrr....I mean Amazon. :). (I only say that as I buy certain food stuffs on Amazon I can't find locally or find in stock locally)

When I can’t find something out of stock that I regularly bought somewhere, talk to the manager or owner. At least they can tell you if they stopped carrying it, or if it’s on back order.
Kraft still produces limited quantities of Green Goddess dressing under the Kraft brand name but Kraft also owns Seven Seas and it produces the exact same dressing under the Seven Seas brand name.

I'd never heard of Green Goddess dressing before this so I looked up the ingredients. No two manufacturers have identical ingredients, some have less variety, some have more variety of ingredients but there are several commonalities that they all share.

I have always made all of my own different kinds of dressings from scratch so it turns out that unbeknownst to me I've been making Green Goddess salad dressing for about 50 years from my own recipe and I never realized it had a name or that it was a popular "thing" dating back to the 1920's. I found out that it originated in 1923, invented by Executive Chef Philip Roemer of the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.

Looking online for Kraft's list of ingredients I saw there are numerous recipes online for GG dressing and its several variations and some of them sound really yummy. I think I still like mine best because it has some extra ingredients but it doesn't have all the preservatives, etc. in it because I don't make enough of it to need preservatives for the very short time it may spend in the fridge.

a. 6 bottles would last us a lifetime and get old way before we used it.
b. In my part of Mississippi talking to a big store manager (like at Walmart or Kroger) is impossible and useless if you could reach them.

It’s discontinued at the closest subway to me.
Definitely do a search for a recipe, it’s super easy, and no doubt healthier. I had one somewhere but can’t remember from where.
A better home made one is “glory bowl”.

Today's grocery stores are all about getting the most sales from their shelf space and have computers to tell them what is and is not selling the best. They probably were not selling enough of it. I remember when stores here had a large variety of Campbell's soup varities but it is down to about 1/4 of the shelf space it was back then. New products come out that sell well and the stores only have so much shelf space.

I don't eat at Subway very often and it has likely been over a month so they could have moved on to a different campaign now.
If Green Goddess has been canceled, you can bet The Woke Atheist had something to do with it.

We had friends vsiting from out of state a few weeks ago and when GF and I went to Wal Mart and there was plenty of Kraft green goddess dressing because she knew the wife of the couple visiting would have to have it with our home grilled steak dinner even though it made me catch my breath when I saw it cost almost a dollar an ounce for a 16 ounce bottle.

Glad olive oil and homemade wine that was let to take a bad turn in it's maturing vinegar with a sprinkle of herb seasoning is my choice of dressing on my salad side dish :)

Prices seem to be going up - especially when it is from a third party seller on the Walmart website. I bought a bottle of Green Goddess at the grocery store, and it definitely didn't cost what the third party reseller is selling it for - it was the same price as the other salad dressings. Some stores seem to stock it, but others don't. Next time I'm at the store, I'll get a picture of the shelf tag to show the price. :)

My experience: If I like something really well and use it regularly for years, it's only a matter of time before they quit making it. It's true with cars, tractors, food, tools, and most everything else. Must be the marketing wizzes everywhere.
