Sept 30th and Oct 1st in southern missouri a local farmer has the Decendants of the Pioneers Gathering.
It is open to anyone interested that wants to attend.
Directions: From Ava, MO east on Hwy 14 approx 20 miles to Yates Cem. Road.
    Then follow signs.

    What happens there?:
There are demonstrations of how things used to be done on the farm: Some call it the good ole days
There is a woman that makes some lye soap in a big kettle, a person that spins yarn (the fabric not stories), a person that canes chairs, hit and miss engines that usually is hooked up to a buz saw to show how it worked.
Around 12 noon each day they put the iron tire on a wagon wheel, food, this year they are making some mollasses, wagon rides, live music, making rails for rail fence. cross cut sawing. other activites.
You need to bring your own lawn chair.
It is a free event unless you purchase some food or something from those that are selling their goods.
They dont allow drinking, drugs, atv's or pets.

    It is good clean fun
