Yes, our dog had it about a year and a half before she passed (developed cancer).
It caused her to loose control and pee whenever/wherever. We took her out about 8-10 times a day and still had 'accidents'. She never had them before. She would be headed for the back door and just have to go before she got there. We h ad a throw rug on the wood floor that I swear was in the washer daily. She tried but just couldn't hold it long enough to get outside.
Her energy level went way down and this was a very active dog at one time, she went from chasing squirrels all around the yard to laying in the sun on the grass and panting.
Not sure what the dogs quality of life was, she didn't seem to be in pain, it took until the cancer for my wife to let go. I will say she (wife) was good about cleaning up the accidents. I was ready to have the dog put down about a year before we actually did it.
