This topic doesn't really have much if anything to do with homesteading and I don't know where else I might post the question, but I'm curious. Outside the state you currently live in, what city (if any) is your favorite to visit? What about this place appeals to you?I live in Ohio and I'd have to say that my all time favorite city to visit is Savannah, Georgia. It's near the ocean, it has a southern charm, the architecture is beautiful, there is Spanish moss growing in the canopy of trees that extends above many of the streets, and there are perhaps 22 small city parks throughout the city. Lots of interesting shops, and restaurants, minor league ball team (Sand Gnats), art college, art galleries and museums, and the people seem quite friendly. What city appeals most to you and why? Remember to have it be somewhere other than your home state. Thanks

I love Seattle. It's a beautiful city, I love the proximity to Puget Sound and the whole feel of the city just suits me.
I used to live in downtown Boston and I just can't get excited over east coast cities anymore. I adore the west!

It's a cool place & it's a great Road-trip, getting out there from central Indiana.
We've been up there twice.

Washington D.C. Beautiful green grass area amongst the monuments and memorials, and I've always found the locals to be friendly and helpful. Museums, etc. What more could one ask for in a large city?

Next favorite would be Chicago for all it has to offer.

Orlando -- the DW and I are Theme Park junkies. We lived there for 7 years and still have many friends there also, even though we've been in the DFW area for almost 9 years now.

How big does it have to be to qualify as a city, LOL?! I hate crowds, and crowded places. The only towns I'd enjoy visiting are in Southeast Alaska -- went to college in Sitka for two years, and would love to go back there for a visit (I still have friends there). I've been to Petersburg and Ketchikan and would enjoy visiting them again. We lived in Juneau briefly, and I wouldn't mind going back there for a short visit, either. Haines -- have friends there, too. Guess we ought to buy a boat and go back to Southeast!

A split between New York City & San Francisco. I was born in one and the other I left my heart.

I don't live in my home state(Wa) so I will say SEATTLE, I have many happy memories there, loved the waterfront and all th international ships(my family used to walk up and down the waterfront, look at the ships and eat at Ivars Acres of Clams for fun). Loved the mountains on both sides, the water, the ferry boats. I remember getting dressed up fancy to go Christmas shopping downtown at the department stores--pre malls!!!

I went to DC when I was a teenager, I thought it was hilarious how I had to keep explaining I'm from Washington STATE, then the next thing they'd say is, there's a Washington STATE? Where's that? :D

Las Vegas, I just love to play poker.
Hey Stranger, you'll appreciate this!

My FIL loves his Thursday night friendly game with his buddies, and he plays on line some.

Last year he decided to treat himself to a trip to Vegas for the world series of poker, and he entered the seniors tournament just for fun.

Well, he made the final table and ended up going out 6th..brought home over $46k!

It was very exciting!

I like San Fancisco, NYC, Chicago, Boston, Savannah, London, Moscow, Copenhagen, Lisbon and Istanbul.

Sedona AZ. My hubby and I have been there quite a few times and we just love the hiking. We go in November so it's kinda cold but there are no tourists. We like to rent a cozy cabin with a fireplace :)

My all time fav is Savannah and we're heading there for turkey day weekend! We love the parks, the restaurants, the water, the seafood, the riverfront, the people, the architecture, it's wonderful and full of history. My other favorite would be Ft. Myers Fl because we have so many friends there and it's a nice place to visit!

I have to say Missoula Montana has my heart, as it is home to me, no matter where I live. But, before moving from there and since, I love Seattle. The ocean, Puget Sound, the wharfs, ferries etc.....even the weather!
