Has anyone replaced the pull string and if so how did you remove the coupling at the end of the shaft? Anyone have any websites that discusses repair?

    Thanks in advance.

Are you referring to the trimming line or the starter rope? If you go to www.craftsman.com and have the model number of your mower, you can get schematics and parts lists for your particular mower.

If it's a two-cycle and calls for 40:1 mix, might want to go a bit richer than that. From my experience, you can coax a bit longer life out of those engines that way. They tend to be poor in terms of vibration, but that's another story.
