If the chicken litter is actually chicken manure then can someone explain something to me. Since it's known that even heat at extreme levels won't kill the prions responsible for MCD, then is there any guarantee that going through a chickens alimentary tract will kill those prions if present in the chickens feed?
So isn't there a chance that:
1. infected parts are fed to chickens in their rations,
2. the manure of said chickens is then fed back to other cattle,
3. MCD exposure to cattle fed that chicken litter feed?
