NOP (USDA ORGANIC) rules: raw uncomposted manure should be applied 120 days before harvest of a crop which might touch it--such as potatoes, peanuts, lettuce, carrots, etc---and 90 days before a non-touching crop. such as tomatoes, beans, corn
This allows for manures to break down by microbe and biological organism action, or dilution and leaching of chemicals or pathogens or residual elements.
The medication "should" metabolize inside the calf beforehand-otherwise it is doing no good just passing through
BUT, the NOP program recommends hot composting above raw application--that's the preferred way.
