I have an older cow (15 year old) longhorn cow that has been making bullish sounds lately - she will walk the fix making that low-growling similar to how a bull does when their is another bull close-by. Has anyone ever heard of this??
In longhorn years, the old gal isn't that old. When was the last time she calved and how long have you had her? Is she have a bit of a more pronounced hump. Sometimes if the old gals miss a calf or two or lose a couple calves in their senior years, their hormones change.
ovarian cyst causes hormone changes have a vet look at her i would say it is time to ship her to market /or butcher her yourself.. when they get like that they become as dangeriouse or more so than an actual bull think of her as having a very bad case of PMS
