I'm looking for an old working hand corn sheller. From pictures I've seen, they had a wheel that you turned on the side and you dropped the ear down a funnel like opening in the top. Any ideas? Thanks LJ
EBay is your friend. I got mine doing a search just like what Hermit John suggests above.
Don't buy the first one that comes along, watch the market for a few weeks. Some are quite collectible and fetch a price reflecting that. Others are rusted junk. Some will be not-so-collectible and in sound condition - that's what you want to bid on.
Can't recall how much I paid for mine, but it wasn't much as I recall. Looks like it's a hundred years old, but it's solid.
:yeeha: I just looked on e-bay and saw what they were bidding for the old hand crank sheller. I have one, look just likt that one, and still works great. If you want to pay what they are currently bidding for that one, I guess with a little arm twisting, I would just have to part with it. I am moving my in town warehouse out to my barn in the country, and that's something that I wouldn't have to move.
