    I can't wait for DH to read this he has a thing about flushing and septic i wanted a compost toilet ...hehe strange now i have the gov backing me????

    It's totally true about 'wanting closure'. Whenever I use one, I'm like "that's it? I'm done??"

    It's an interesting article. We've thought about putting a composting toilet into a bathroom we want to put into our basement. For two reasons...One, because using drinking quality water to flush the toilet has always seemed incredibly wasteful to me. And two, because for some reason that DH explained to me (too long ago for me to repeat it here, can't remember :eek:)) the plumbing for a traditional toilet would be tricky to get right downstairs.

    I'd be interested to hear anyone's pros/cons if you have them!

    I recently read a post on one of the forums from someone who stated they had a composting toilet that didn't....Who has had success and with what brand?
