C'mon folks. This happened a long time ago. As many times as I've read it and seen it posted I never thought to see such an argument about it.

Accidents happen and sometimes the outcomes are not as we'd expect. I mean, it's a chicken with no face. That's a curiosity, especially back in that time period and still a neat story today.

There is no need to bring "Feelings" into this.

    I get that.

Unfortunately, I'm not capable of turning off my compassion.

This accident should have been taken care of when he realized the bird wasn't dead. Not drawing it out 18 months to make a buck. Kinda like a morbid Charlotte's Web.

Of course this was entertainment back then and I don't think the farmer had intention of being cruel. He probably though he was doing a good thing keeping the bird alive.

I still feel bad for it,even though it probably had no awareness of it's life as it just went through it's instinctual motions.

And I don't believe my feelings of sympathy have anything to do with my ability to butcher livestock for food for my family. Which was kind of implied by a poster, because I said " poor thing"

I also feel compassion for the livestock grown on industrial farms. Im not blind to the inhumane way they are raised. It's one of the reasons I am so intent on raising my family's food source.

Omg so much of that is BS. Post the link to this thread so they can actually see what was posted. I was merely defending my compassion for the poor chicken drawn out demise. Nowhere we're you attacked personally . Lol wow.

What I see, it's a geriatric club. Story's of how it was, or how it was remembered. Story's of legend, true or not. And then, "Get off my lawn" to any new blood.

Plenty of room to stretch a tale.

I can see that, but you best have a picture of an uninhabited lawn( by anyone under 55) or a very thick skinned youth with skills at dealing with the geriatric.

    It's an honest assessment.

There are many "old" people that I dearly trust, honor, cherish, and love.

Doesn't change my mind on the topic.
You can quote me at your pleasure. It's on the internet after all.

Though, you've already misrepresented the thread as a whole.

I was offended initially. The liars club post certainly didn't help.
