century welder help

    I have a Century 155 GS welder that dosent seem to be putting out enough juice to weld prorerly. any ideas ?

    maybe you just need a new grounding clamp or grind the one that's there for a clean contact

    Have tried that . Didnt seem to help. It just never did seem to work right forom the get go. But century got bought out shortly after I bought it and I couldnt get any one to even look at it. Thanks for the tsuggestion though.

    Have you verified the input voltage with a meter?

    I hadnt done that, Just did got 115 v. It dosent get any penetretion just leaves bird poo . no matter the speed or thickness. I am about ready to give it a heave and buy a new Hobart( really hate to though too much money )

    Flux core or gas? I've a little Clarke 110 welder, it makes ugly welds with flux core not too bad with solid and gas.

    Hey Ross,
    I have tried both , Also with .023 and .030 wire . also tried co2 tri mix heck even tried argon just cause we had some handy. Thanks for the reply,

    Have you tried switching polarity on it. It s a long shot but what the heck.
