I need a disc about 5 5/8 inches in diameter and can't seem to locate this. It goes to an old strainer that used to be used to strain to a milk can.

I cut up old t-shirts for filters for my milk. They work great.

We use white hankies cut into quarters. We used the paper ones for years. We are much happier with cloth.

Neither of those links have this seemingly obsolete size. I have been thinking about using muslin.

    Thanks.

I did all of the above and then went to new clean dish cloths. The kind you can get 6 for a buck or two at the dollar store.

I ordered some 6 1/2 inch filters. If they don't fit I'll cut them down I suppose. Next step would be some sort of material such as was mentioned. Thanks to all.

I got the 6 1/2 inch filters and they fit fine. I was concerned that they would be to thick and I wouldn't be able to fit the retainer in.

    Thanks.
