In the last few weeks there have been some, dare I say: volatile, conversations.

I could give a flip about sexuality here and there. If those things come up in the news or other media I may drill in or skim.

Why do we have to deal with sexuality on this forum? Other than a spouse who can get you back home if an accident, who gives a darn what the sex is at birth. OTOH, I don't want it in my face. BUT THESE ARE THE TIMES.

In my area things are traditional families. I subscribe to that. If you live in an area that is changing then get involved. If you can't win, sorry, move.

Definition of homesteading should include culture - at the time. That doesn't mean it will stay that way.

Remember that we are drilled constantly with democracy - majority vote. You could be voted out.

Who wins?

You would have to ask the members that post such threads. Based on history, many times it is little more than trolling.

There are literally people saying the opposite of what is true and about half of the Country believes it. Not just political opinions, or did an event happen the way they said it did, but, fundamental truths and basic facts of nature, like what is a man and what is a woman. They are desperate to feed children their vile delusions. Now is not a time to stick ones head in the sand.

I believe back when I was much, much younger, we all could have a conversation about whatever differences of opinions we had. We'd agree to disagree and then go to dinner together. I do believe that most average everyday people are that way still HOWEVER, the media, the politicians, etc love to push the great divide. I'm right, you are wrong. If you disagree with me then you are this, that, or the other. No compromise, no respect, just force feeding of what I should believe, say, do, etc. Add in the internet, where people can say whatever they want and would never say if standing face to face, and it makes discussions get even nastier.
I do care about what they school are teaching my grandchildren. I feel a drag queen is inappropriate for elementary and middle school aged children story hour. My opinion, other's disagree. Who's right? Who's wrong? I also do not want my teenage granddaughter to have to share a locker room with a teenage biological boy who now is a girl. Again, my opinion. Others will disagree. It is unfortunate that "disagreements" are no longer discussions but ugly, nasty, name calling crap.

The last place I would ever willing live, would be a democracy. If the culture around me changed in a way I didn't like I would move away. I would go live in a tent in the mountains, before I lived near transgenders or drag queens. I am not at all fond of bible thumpers, drunks, dope heads, skin heads, white trash, or hippies. Come to think of it, I just don't like being around groups of any kind. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate people. As long as I don't have to talk to them, or get close enough to hear or smell them.

I do enjoy arguing with people on the internet. I sometimes argue with my mules, but they are smarter than I am, so I gave that up.

If my ole noggin serves me right it was Mr. Franklin said Democracy is two wolves and sheep voting what to have for dinner. Most people think America is a Democracy. Well let me tell you Hiddensprings. I have a grandniece that is a beautiful young girl just smart as a whip. One of those purple haired ****** was trying to train her whats the word groom her into being a *****. Well, Mrs Jones found out about that and told her sister (Grandniece's Grandma) to just ship her down to us and she put her a school down here. Mrs Jones I am proud to say is a "Lady" and she is setting a fine example for our niece to follow. And she is doing so well in school now. Why they got to mess with those kids heads? Disgusting.
