I only know that I have a doe that is 1/2 nubian, 1/4 boar and 1/4 pygmy. The doe was a full nubian and the sire 1/2 boar and 1/2 pygmy. How you get 85% and 6% I don't know.

The percentages refer to the amount of cross breeding back to a single breed,Therefor 1/2 will be 50% 3/4 would be 75% and so on after a number of gen. the percent of the interment breed /mix is diluted so its for all purposes nil . A 7/8 would be87.5% and so on . I hope this helps.

Here is how you do it: Add the percentages of each parent animal and divide that sum by 2.
If you have the Excel computer program, you can download a percentage calculator that I created at:
http://www.countrybuck.com/percentage.xls
Hope this helps.....Dennis
