Has anyone else read that Llamas and Alpacas will inter breed with Camels, and that the offspring are fertile?? just wondering
I'd assume the male would be the cammel? it'd be an odd/interesting mix to say the least does it have to be a certain type of cammel?
I had read a few yrs. ago that they are interbreedable and there crosses are putting out quite a bit of wool, not to mention the meat. now that llams prices are down as well as camel it might be worth looking into,as a dual purpose animal.
Llamas and alpacas ARE camels! And they couldn't breed a dromadary if they wanted too. It would be like a mini chawawa breeding a great dane. :haha:
