who all feeds their bunnies calf manna to keep them in good shape along with feeding some to the female bunnies with a litter of kits?

what about boss for your rabbits? heard that boss is a natural wormer for rabbits.

    I use both.
Everyone get a tiny bit of BOSS everyday. Moms with kits and the kits themselves get a bit of both.

BOSS = Black Oil Sunflower Seeds (usually sold as bird food)

I'm feeding calf manna to my nursing doe (along with regular pellets and some fresh green stuff), and had considered adding a little bit of BOSS, since I have it for my goats. I'll try that.

Our breeding formula pellets contain calf manna and we feed it to does from two weeks before kindling until three weeks after kindling. We found doing so, improves the does milk production, helps the doe recover more quickly, and gets the kits off to a good start. Some growers feed it all the time to all their adult rabbits as the rabbits tend to eat less and therefore it reduces over all herd feed usage. We have never fed BOSS as it would increase their fat intake and they do not need it with the pellets we use.

we give our pet rabbit both of that. the does seems to enjoy them two things very much. on the boss we don't feed to much of but it helps condition their coat n yes does put some weight on them but not lots of fat of what we can tell. most of our rabbits are not meat most r going to be pets or sold as pets later so wont to give them best start as can.

Calf Manna actually is a brand name -- ask for calf starter pellets. The bag of Calf Manna I have has directions for rabbits on the back (among many other animals), and says a tablespoon per day for a nursing doe. I'm probably feeding a little more than that -- my doe loves it, and gets upset when I put it in on top of the regular rabbit pellets because she has to eat some of the other stuff down before the Calf Manna pellets get down where she can reach them! (I'm trying to remember to put the Calf Manna in FIRST!)

I use manna-pro rabbit food. I give only about 20 seeds to a cage and about a tablespoon of calf-manna to moms and kits.
I put the seeds and manna in a heavy clear glass ashtray (about $1.00). easy to clean, look nice, chew proof, they can't tip over and the buns won't dig and waste pellets to get to the treats.

Do you give the buns sunflower seeds in the shell or de-shelled (I think that's a word!).

when we feed our bunnies boss it stay in the shell they eat it all no waste even with calf manna it no waste we don';t feed bunnies to much boss or manna but they get some to help keeping coat nice n shining alone with when does get their mixture it helps them with their milk supply for the kits. forgot to say we do feed some rabbit pellets but when gave pellets our bunnies didn't seem to do as good as when adding more stuff to pellets then they started lookn better health wise.
