Well I'm not getting tenure, so no job in the fall. This isn't become I'm incompetent, but because of politics...and I never was very good at politics. I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, it's a blow to the ego and a royal pain to move again. On the other hand, I can move up my plan to move to a rural area and start looking for land - just a little early. Oh well. I figure I'll do the legwork and start looking, and leave the rest up to God/dess.

If y'all hear of any jobs for media specialists in a school library in Michigan or Wisconsin, by all means, let me know!..but only in rural areas.

The local community college here in northern Michigan is looking for a part-time reference librarian. Salary range is $16.02-$24.03. Area is VERY rural and living is cheap! The college is a haven for the arts and for vibrant, creative people.

You can check out the job online at http://www.kirtland.edu/hr/jobs/ptreflilibrarian.htm

Good luck to you as you start down a new path!

My job is going bye bye, too. Maybe it is God showing me that with gas prices doubling and maybe tripling, I should work closer to home. Even with a wage cut, the savings in fuel and tolls may even things out.

However, if one more person says "God never closes one door without opening another" I'm liking to toss my cookies on their toes!

    Good Luck, Helena!
