We have 3 oberhasli does and I'm wondering about breeding them with another breed. There seem to be NO oberhasli bucks around here. Our neighbor has an alpine billy goat. I think I could order semen but I'm also not sure how to tell when they're in season. Thoughts?

Where are you located? I am in Tennessee and have Obies also. We drove to a town about 2 hours away and leased the buck for 1 month. I have blood samples out to BioTracking right now hoping they come back positive.

Check the AGDA site for breeders in your area. Otherwise, go ahead and breed to the alpine, if all you want is milk - ober/alpine kids are great looking too.
