I'm reading "Robbing the Bees : A Biography of Honey--The Sweet Liquid Gold that Seduced the World" by Holley Bishop.

I'm not too far into it yet, but it seems to be a good read so far. It's nonfiction and follows a beekeeper in the Florida panhandle. Interspersed with the story is the history of beekeeping and a whole bunch of facts about bees and hives.

Thanks for the recommendation. This book was on my list, but since you recommended it I will bump it up towards the top.

"Beeing"--is also a cute book to read.. I love the part where she describes the Christmas presents of honey--"Who cares if they cost $200.00 a jar!" :) Most new beekeepers know just how that feels... :D
