I was wondering if it is normal for chickens to have bloody poop before they start laying? I have 18 week old chickens and noticed a good amount of blood on the roost this morning. I will post pics. Please let me know what you all think. Thanks!!
Typically, that is a sign of coccidia. In hens that are already laying, an eggbound hen could do something like that. But unless you are feeding cranberries I would go with coccidia, maybe worms. Is anybody standing around with poofed out feathers, or with a pale comb?
