Hello. I'm seeking advice and help from others with experience or a mason I'm a young man from North West florida with a fairly good amount of experience with Brick and block as an apprentice. I would almost be considered a mason.
When it comes to laying 8 or 12 inch block and even Brick I'm faster then most and very neat. I just lack confidence in correctly building block corner leads. Seeking methods to correctly and quickly build corners. Seeking advice tips possibly a video showing step by step for building corners , ranging, plumbing, and building them fast without wasting time doing unnecessary steps. Curious too on correctly squaring all four corners while building corners on a little foundation.
Seeking to grow in this career and be the best I can be. Would greatly appreciate any tips on that step by step instructions. Even better if anyone is willing to create a video. Thank you

Curious too on correctly squaring all four corners while building corners on a little foundation.

Set batter boards, pull your lines, square them up and lay your courses using the lines as your guide.
Check for plumb and level often.

Ok, not a mason at all but I have been in construction all my life. First (in most cases) you will have to go with the plumb-ness of the building. You have no choice because someone before you determined that anyway. Run a story pole from the bottom to the top to keep it inline with existing conditions.

If you are building a true block building then you just need to make sure the corners are plumb. Run your plumb corners first and then fill in between them. You will have some leeway with your joints if you need to adjust.

I am curious how you appreciticed long enough to consier yourself ready for un-supervised work, but did not learn to handle corners. Not being critical, just wondering how that works?

Good question . Eager to learn and make money. Learn daily. Practice everything you can and take risk. Work hard and gain trust. Just learn as you go and take time. Seems crazy and almost over night when u started to take on jobs gradually taking more and more. Can speak for everyone else. Usually doesn't come this quick
