Just got my kiddo his first saddle. Noticed the stirrups were laced on, not held with Blevins buckles. My plan was to just buy new Blevins' but holy-sticker-shock-batman! The kido can ride with laced stirrups for a bit. The laces currently on it are very loose so I'm thinking they probably aren't the permanent pattern.

So here's my question: is there a 'proper' pattern for lacing the stirrups on?

I'm also open to learning if there are regional patterns. IE: if Great Basin buckaroos do it differently than Rocky Mountain herd riders.

I'll try to get over and check my dad's saddles. He has a thing about adjusting stirrups and truck seats so lacing works for one and he welds the other.
