I agree with John's wife. THe 30/70 will give a good bounce to the yarn but not be too fuzzy.
Does she have a drum carder or will she be carding by hand?
I don't know exactly where in WC MO you are, but you and Mrs. need to attend the Missouri Natural Colored Woolgrowers Association show and fiber fest next spring at Nevada. It's always the first weekend AFTER Memorial Day. I don't remember their website right now but the lady who does it told me she'd been working on it to update it. They have vendors of all sorts of goodies, demonstrations, classes, animals, etc. and a lot of fun.
