I would like to make some bird feeders and houses out of things from around the house. I have seen some feeders made from tea pots. anyone have any ideas they are willing to share? I thought if I could recycle things into feeders and houses, that it would make some great gifts. Thanks, Renee

I found a couple of cool sites for DIY projects...one (birdwatchers) has tons of ideas and projects, but few pictures.

I remember using old rusty or bent up baking pans and nailing them to the porch railing. Muffin cups work well, too :)

I've been intending on trying to make a birdhouse out of clay pot and saucer. Thought I'd drill a 1" hole in the pot on the side...about 2" below the rim. Then turn the pot upside down and epoxy it to a saucer. (oh, and there would be a hanger using a heavy crosspiece going thru the hole in the bottom of the pot....or it could be placed on a board in the crook of a branchon a tree...)

anyway...after epoxy dries, I thought i'd paint the whole thing

Was thinking a milk bottle would work for a birdhouse. cut the hole in the side, put a stick as a landing pad just down from the hole...hang it by the handle. Probably paint the thing dark so it's dark inside.
