My dippy kids bent the lids on one of my freezers. It will not stay open and the seal is pulled back against the hinge. It's not the hinge because I switched hinges with a different lid and it did the same thing. It's like the lid sets back too far on one end of the freezer.

I'm thinking if I put some washers in the hinge screws this might force the lid back into place so the seal sits properly. I don't know if I'll regain it staying open, but at least I won't have a leaky freezer.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

    Thanks

In that the lid sets too far to the rear it appears the lower part of the hindge mount is bent, this may be straightened with a (gasp!) hammer. As far as the seal goes it is a fold over the screws type item, lift the flap and see. If there are screws just loosen them, warm the seal with a hair dryer and put it back where it is supposed to be. Retighten the screws and then watch for my email for the address to send the service call check!! :p
