Hello fellow gardeners and homesteaders!

I am having a great bean year so far and am starting to plan on saving more seeds from my own lines of bush and pole beans. I know food security is at the heart of what most homesteader do and it is my strong opinion that we cannot have true food security without taking back control of our seed source.

As I processed the pea seeds for next year's crop - and in my case because I own a seed company, next year's seed supply - I decided to put together a little article to help those of you who may not have tried saving bean seeds in the past.

It's truly very easy, but if you feel like you need to learn more, you can read on here: The Ultimate Bean Seed Saving Guide.

Disclaimer: yes, I have a seed company. I sell seeds and if you buy from me, I will make a profit. You absolutely don't need to purchase my seeds to read this article and save your own bean seeds. Your bean plants will still produce viable seeds if you don't buy from me.... there it is.

Excellent article-- well written, with enough detail to be complete yet not too technical to scare anyone off.

I'm always fascinated with how many "homesteaders" don't save seeds.
Thanks! I think it's mostly because that knowledge has been lost for a few generations and people are scared of things like hybridization, which frankly they shouldn't.
We absolutely need to regain control of our food system and it begins at the very beginning!
