I have a problem well for my barn. I was told that the people that put the line in dug down 4 ft but if they came apon a rock they just went over it. So the line has all kinds of humps. I loose prime about once a month, not sure why. Priming it is hell. My pump is also getting weak. I have an old submersible sump pump. I am going to install it on a switch to pump the water with a check valve to keep the line full.
Does any one know if a sump set up like this could be run off a pressure switch? Basically like a submersible well pump.

hi rob. may be letting air in through the packing if its that worn .the sump pump might work but not sure how much lift and pressure you will get. whats your old pump? buddy hit an auction and got a deep well submersable with wire for 50 bucks last year so might look around . which ever route you go make sure to javex every thing before use! pigs don't like germs!
