May her passing go quickly and gently, and her family be comforted.

I had forgot, but I tutored some adults in the late 80's or early 90's when I was in Rotary Club.

Long article and does not mention Barbara Bush until near the end.

I was 47 going on 48 when I saw Barbara Bush - then Second Lady of the US - talking about adult literacy on TV. It was her special cause. I'd never heard anybody talking about adult literacy before, I thought I was the only person in the world that was in the situation I was in.

A fine woman and a fine man. It breaks my heart to think of them parted.

    They are fine people.

I got to have lunch with Sr. Talked to him, and he was a very nice gentleman. He was really pained by how Jr. was being treated in the press.

My husband and I have a list of people with whom we would love to have dinner and Bush Sr and Mrs B Sr are on mine.

Somehow, I don't think they'll be parted for long.

I think she is such a classy lady. I respect her decision. Why spend more time in the hospital when you can be at home with your family.

If you all wanna keep talking about the family its time to move this thread to politics.
Mrs Bush seems like a fine person and I wish her comfort at this time.

I don't think this is about politics. It is commiserating on the failing health and probable imminent death of Barbara Bush. She may be the wife and mother of presidents but she is also a fine and interesting woman in her own right.

Posts 8,9,10 where a judgement of past presidents and fairness would seem to dictate rebuttals by those that don’t agree.

Barbara Bush made a decision to not continue with expensive medical procedures which at this juncture will make no difference in extending her life. This is not uncommon with cancer patients but it is new for those who suffer with chronic pulmonary issues, congestive heart problems and emphysema which Mrs. Bush is battling. It is great that she is once again educating and working to change things for the better and she is doing it by example.
