    We have a baby!

Bull calf, healthy, up and taking his bottle like a big boy.

He would be born when there was only me home.....

If you have to work full-time AND have stock.....

    Well.....

It really really helps to have good neighbors. I'd set it up with my neighbor the night before to check every 2 hours, starting at 6 am. So as I lug milk pail and grain down to the barn, here comes John! Yippee!!!! He bottled the baby while I got the stall set up pretty, having realized that Sir Loin would come straight out of the bigger stall and had to go into the one I'd set up for orphan lambs and goat kids.

So far, all is well. He's checked every 2 hours, since I'm not there, and according to reports, all are doing well except Daisy wants her baby. Hopefully she will calm down in a day or so.

We intend to bottle-feed this baby, since there are 2 families and one calf needing milk from Miss Daisy.....So I have separated them, and am bottle-feeding the calf.
