Very idyllic isn't it?
Never had sheep, I was just trying to figure out what was going on with the lamb slaughtering thing. Still-born's hide used to get the ewe to adopt a different lamb? Interesting.
I really liked it. Why was she turning them on their noses at the end?
That was great. Very good photagrapher.
Wow, just WOW. Absolutely beautiful!

Yes. They take the hide from a dead lamb and put it on a live lamb, an orphan or an extra from a ewe that had a "litter", in an attempt to have the ewe accept it as her own. The hide, of course, smells like the ewes own lamb.
Totally amazing photos, thanks so much for sharing! sis
Great photos, and I understand the hide swap on lambs, but what else was she doing to the dead lamb? looks like she took the heart out maybe and gave to the dog? Don`t know. > Thanks Marc

I think she was grabbing that one, flipping it onto the haunches then milking her.
Yeah she likely baited the group then nabbed her potential milk donner from behind. Not many reasons to try and work with a sheep from that angle. They are obviously range kept but familiar with handling still you are going to need a system to apprehend your volunteers.
