Tomorrow is the due date for my favorite cow on the farm where I work!!! She's HUGE and has been ornery for the past couple weeks ... not that I blame her, LOL! Since I'm milking in the morning, I'm crossing my fingers that she'll deliver right on schedule ... otherwise I'll probably miss it 'cause I only work 2 days a week there! Ya'll send good thoughts Bitey's way, OK?! I am hoping for an easy delivery ... this will be #4 for the old gal and she's in pretty good shape, but I'm still as anxious as if she were one of my girls!!!!
My Dorsey is due April 1. I have her calsium gel already at the first sign of calf in progress. Given the luck I've had with calves, I'm just hoping I can keep the cow alive.
Well, wish her best of luck, regardless how many they have, never know what might crop up.. We had another tonight, bull calf from "vilderness gurl". That's 4 down, 8 to go, and the count is 3 Bull calves, 1 heifer. Same deal last year, had a few bull calves, but in the end, more heifers than bull calves (6 heifers, 5 bull calves). Jeff
Well, Bitey did not honor me by having her calf on my watch. :waa: Haggis, hope Dorsey has an easy time of it!!!
