i have a stalk of asparagus coming already. my rhubarb is doing good too. it seems a bit early. things seem like they are going early this year though. i may just go ahead and start planting like i normally would three weeks from now.

i was checking my hardiness zone. boy that sure has changed or at least become confussing with all of the revisions. i knew i was traditionally in zone 6. i knew there used to be a 6a and 6b. not sure if that is so now. i am in either 6 or 7 depending on which map you look at. i actually saw one map that showed 3 zones in my general area.

it is hard to believe those "little bumps" called the appalachians could have such an impact. i live near to gettysburg but a bit further west and behind the first ridge of the apps. i can get coastal weather or highland weather.

I love asparagus! When do you palnt it? In the autumn?

..and how long is it before you have stalks to eat?

I live in Zone 7 (almost 8). Will it even grow here?

Yes you can grow it in your zone. best to plant it in the spring. Can harvest for a few weeks in the second year. then up to 8 weeks in third if plants are vigorous.

    Questions!

Where's a good place to order crowns?

How many should on plant to supply two people enough about once or twice a week?

    Is it difficult to grow?
