I go tomorrow to the pain management clinic where they're suppose to deaden some of the nerves in my lower spine. They're trying to find out which nerves are causing my problems. If they can locate the culprits they will reschedule me to go in and have those nerves burned out. Please pray this works. If it doesn't the doctors have told me the next option is very painful because they shoot dye into the discs and produce pain to try to find which one is causing all the trouble. Basically I have 5 discs in my lower back that are compressed to the point of pushing them out at all different angles. It has hampered my ability to walk and I have been in a wheelchair for 5 years now. I have a 10 yr old special needs son. I really would like to do more things with him, but as it is, it's very difficult. I appreciate the prayers.

Sonshine that sounds awful. May your procedure be painless and totally successful. May God guide the Dr's to find a solution for your pain.
Praying for abundant blessings for you.

I'll be praying for you. I'm dealing with some severe back pain and it's worse than a toothache, but mine isn't nearly as bad as yours. I can't imagine the pain you are going through.

Thank you for the prayers. I have to admit, I'm nervous. My appointment is at 2 pm EST. I hate the unknown. The pain I have I am familiar with and have learned to deal with, but it scares me not knowing what could happen with them messing around with my spine. I don't have a lot of faith in doctors and wouldn't even been doing this if it weren't for my son, but I want so bad to be able to do things other mom's do with their kids. We waited so many years to finally adopt, and now I feel cheated. I sometimes feel we made a mistake in adopting our son, but I can't imagine life without him now. I just want to be able to play catch with him, or shoot some hoops. :(

You don't have to have any faith in Dr.s. I sure don't. Place your faith in God to guide those Dr.s to heal your body. He is the Great Healer after all {{{hugs}}}

Well, I got the injection and found out the technical term for it which is "lumbar facet injection". It's too early yet to know if this one will work. They did it on L1 and if that doesn't work they will go to L2 all the way to L5. My back is bruised and my left leg and arm are weak and tingly, but the doctor said that should go away by tomorrow. I won't go back till the 23rd. Thank you for the prayers. They did help my nerves. :) And Trisha in WA, I agree 100%, my faith is in Jesus, thank you for reminding me of just who the Great Physician is.

Sounds like you will not have to do a discogram, at this time. I will prey for you. I hope that you are not having to drive home yourself. Your area of the back is the same as my husbands how are your legs? I am being very serious he now has his legs give out on him with little notice but he has another med reason that might be causeing it. Would you be willing to share more.

My personal interests would be anything that has given you relief from the pain.
We did hear of Arnica oil and that aids
Lost week or so dr. had dh remove caffine from his diet an hour before pain meds and an hour after taking them as it can decress the effectiveness of the meds.
He also is having him take vit D and fish oil to incress the effectiveness of the meds.
I am just sharing something knew to us which may help you but doc's are always the best to make decions with.
Prey for you.

kasilofhome, I have had intermitant (sp) numbness in my left leg for several years. Since we're military, I've always gone to military doctors, unfortunately, they aren't the best that's out there and I've been misdiagnosed several times and nothing has really helped. The pain and numbness just kept getting worse and I have had so much swelling in my lower back that I actually have varicose veins in the area. I can't walk enough to even do grocery shopping any more. I have not heard of Arnica oil, what's it suppose to do? So far they are only talking about pain management. I have degenerative disc disease along with arthritis and fibromyalgia. Nothing they have given me has given me much relief, in fact, you'll notice that many times I post here late at night because I can't sleep with the pain. I have a high pain tolerance, but as the years have gone by it starts to wear a person down. I have already told them that I refuse surgery, the only reason I'm even getting the other procedures done is in the hopes that I can have enough mobility to do things with my son. We adopted him, after I had already lost 4 children and then went 15 yrs childless. I just want to have the opportunity to do things with him like other mom's can do with their kids. Thanks for the prayers. In the end, that is really the only thing I put my faith in, is that God still answers prayers and He knows what He's doing.

You are welcome. Sometimes all we need is a reminder.
I will keep you in my prayers. I understand chronic back pain...not to the extent of yours though. But I know how debilitating it is.
God help us all that know all too well about chronic back pain!

\dSon,
I get it from Adzure check out the forum on alt. med. We, try every thing we can and this is one thing that works. the doc got him a back brace it has plates in it and that helps too. i can relate to much of what you and saying. I post here too at odd hours because he can not rest or sleep lieing down he has to change where he is ever few hours and thine i can not get to sleep. It is our hope to get in to the house and out of this little tiny cabin just so when he has to shift we all do not have to shift where we are sleeping. The other thing not to sound like an ad is that the doc rec. a sleep number bed so that he could adjust the firmness and ect durring the night. That is a big cost but it is cheaper to buy on the internet. This is not posidable in the cabin but in the house we can once we get the money it would be about 5 k but we could put it under medical.

We had dh try it out at a friends house it does help alot. The lack of sleep and pain you people have to live with I am sorry makes me feel so shallow cause I am healthy.

So arinca oil - alt med
back brace- dr.
and the type of ben

Please since you are describing what he lives with PM me with anything that helps. I'll do the same.

Yes, you will be in our preys at prey group tonight.
