The forecast is calling for a freeze tonight, so my ginger crop is about to be dug up. I grew more than we need, so I need to find out what price I might be able to charge for fresh baby ginger roots. I know regular old ginger at the grocery store is $4 to $5 a pound, but seem to remember someone here a while back said they got MUCH more than that for freshly dug. The roots I grew last year dried within a few weeks and looked no different than store bought, so if there is a market premium for fresh I need to act pretty quickly to find a market for it. I have no idea what price to ask, so if anyone here has sold ginger before I would like to know what price you got. Thanks!
