In that it is not legal to drive on public roads without paying the road taxes, found in gasoline's price; it legal to drive off road without paying such taxes. The old beater around here needs to be equipped with a gasoline/propane system, where can one be found that will fit a 300 - 6 cylinder?

...............Probably , the cheapest way is to buy a truck with this system installed as it will have the tank in bed as well . A long time rancher friend of mine , has (2) , 1000 gallon propane tanks sitting out behind an old wooden frame home that his in residence ranch manager lives in year round . Every New Ford truck he buys is equipped for propane . He even puts propane in his truck tires when they are low  . Now , he drives too the ranch every day from his "In town" home which is 25 miles each way , so when he needs to fillup , he just plugs his truck tank into one of the 1000 gallon tanks and walla no roadtax fillup . He has been caught atleast once and they fined him about 500 or so . Don't know IF he still follows this practice as the cost of propane is equal to gas and diesel . fordy... :)
