I used to for fibro, but I've gotten lazy and my muscles have locked up.

I have these little self-help books on it, there are no local classes in English. They also cost 400 euros for something I can do myself LOL!

    Anyone else do yoga?

    Affirmative

    1 to 3 times a week

but I call it a morning workout on the floor

learned most of it from a book but haven't looked at the book in over 10 years.

I love doing yoga. It keeps me from "going south" so fast. LOL I don't do it as often as I should, but I will get back in the habit this winter.

Yes, it can be spiritual as well as physical. I practice it every day. I have been for 30+ yrs. It makes your mucsles strong, it makes your mind focused and strong and it makes you feel powerful, able to conquer the world, or at least your world.
It is a mind, body, spirit connection.
There are many variations and types of yoga. Hatha Yoga is the one most practiced for excercise, but there are so many other... Karma Yoga is the Yoga of the path in life,,I could go on, but you can google it.

I belong the the Y here ( a beautiful, brand new one) and they have classes several times a week. I also go on Monday nights to a private session. This gal does candles, low lights and hot rocks on your backs after, then covers us with a thin soft 'blankie' and of course, the music is ever so Zen. At some point during the session we chant and drum. During meditation we all chant a pre decided chant. Lots of times it is OM ---------the "may all being be well" chant in Pali.

Try it. You might like it. :)

Kat, Are you able to get some videos about yoga? I used to have a book & video tape but sold them (here on the HT forum). I used the tape a few times to learn the basics but then we got rid of our TV, so I just had the book and it wasn't as motivating.

I could probably find some from our local library. The VHS tapes are different in Europe, funky triangley shaped things LOL!

Thanks for the video idea though! I hadn't thought about it! :)

I checked out several yoga videos from our library--the GAIAM series are really good, they also sell them at target... now I own a few.
