Any dove hunters out there? Our season is open here & my son & I are going tomorrow.I like it because it is fast wing shooting & requires skill with a shotgun. Any recipes for dove? I like them fried with onions & brown gravy. I normally shoot a Rem. 870 Wingmaster 12ga pump but I'm going to be trying a (new to me) old SxS 12ga. It's only marked Paragon, but it's in good shape & is shootable. It has 22'' brls, which makes it technically a ''coach gun''. I know that it's cylinder bore, but I think that should be fast for the close in passing shots. We'll see tomorrow.

I think that SxS will be a better quail gun than dove. Good luck on the hunt. I always loved to dove hunt. When my dad was alive and we dove hunted together was one of the best times of my life..

Love to eat them too. Wrapped in bacon and either fried or baked...

Hi ninny! I think you are Probably right about that SxS. It'll be more useful for quail. Gotta try it out though! My Dad taught me everything I know about shooting & I miss him. Bacon wrapped fried dove with gravy!
