I have antique gear that has lost some teeth. Can it be fixed or who could i take it to to remake one? A machine shop?

I think a machine shop would be your first port of call. What they advise you depend on what type of year it is, is this a cast steel gear from hand turned been slicer or maybe something from the reduction box on your Rover gas turbine generator set?

The bottom line is that if someone made it someone else can repair it.

There are people who can weld on new teeth and retemper the steel or work it hot as a casting. Just how much stress a repair will hold is questionable no matter who did it.
