antibiotics

    What would be a good antibiotic for a very pregnant-due anyday now boer doe,she has a very snotty nose-will take her temp. at chore time here shortly-not acting ill, eating fine-was thinking biomyicin 200-and vicks on her nose..suggestions?

    you could give that it is used to prevent abortions in preg. does. I give Pen G- I also always give B-complex to any goat acting off.

    I know this may sound gross but is the snot clear or is it yellow/green? If it has color I would use biomycin and give it everyday for 3 days..not every other day like the label says..label is for cows...it runs through goats too quick and in order to keep drug levels up you should give it everyday. Just don't forget that if she is heavy bred she will likely be sore, probably more so than if she were short bred or not bred. B Complex would be great as well.
