After over 9 months (the 28th) my "new" family will be here (and this was confirmed by the purchase of their tickets today) DEC 6th!! MY KIDS ARE FINALLY COMING!!!

I am so excited, nervous, bouncing off the walls crazy!!

I am sure that my dh will be nuts before then...but he hasn't far to go...

They are coming home! Adding 4 more to our crew!!!

    Absolutely omnicat!!

SweetSarah - We have adopted 2 x's before and last November after the finalizationof our newest legal son we decided that "just one more time..." We have always felt a pull toward sibling sets.

My youngest 2 sisters are part of a sib set of 8 at the time of termination and KS split the group and sent the other children to a druggie uncle who ODed last Spring.

Anyway....We contacted AAN - Adopt America Network and they began sending us profiles of siblling groups. We had been sent the profile of these children and both dh and I were kinda like....Well they were older than we though we could do...We homeschool and to get a waiver to homeschool a child in the fostercare system is VERY difficult....

About a week before we knew we had been choosen as a possible adoptive family I just kept thinking about these children. Then it happened - we were chosen!
That was Feb 28th of this year... Since then It has been one paperwork blunder after another... First on the TX side then on the KS side.... We kept handing paperwork only to find out we then needed something else...

Last Friday I got the word that ALL the paperwork had finally been completed/Accepted/approved...But I still wasn't holding my breath!

Today we received confirmation that they were coming home on the 6th... I am beyond excited!

Happy Thanksgiving and man what a Merry Christmas you will have.

I'm envisioning more Christmas shopping/making, more beds.. etc.

Tell us the ages of these new children of yours... boys, girls?

From one adopting parent to another - congratulations. I can completely relate to the frustrations you have endured, but it's all worth it in the end!!!

Debbie - I too am a very large advocate of adoption as my stepdad adopted me, my 2 youngest sisters were adopted by both my parents and now we - dh and I - are adopting a 3rd time!

Last evening I got a picture of the 4 year old my DD and family are trying to adopt.

Congrats! What an awesome Christmas gift! You're going to be exhausted in a good way!!! We adopted 3 at once 8 yrs ago. At that time we had no kids. We went from 0 to 3 in one day! I still haven't recovered ;) LOL! We've tried to adopt again too but first it changed, then it fell through. I'd love to try again but still waiting for the right time. DH is not interested at the moment so it will have to wait until he changes his mind.
