I totally agree with you. I keep my water heater at 150 degrees because any lower and I can't get a bath-tub full of hot enough water! If the lower half of me doesn't look like a lobster when I get out of the tub, the water isn't hot enough!

I don't use hot water on laundry though, because so much of my clothing and sheets, towels, etc., are 100 percent cotton and I would have a serious shrink-fest if I did!

I love a HOT shower, too. If the water is not hot enough it puts me in a really bad mood! lol.

I'm the same way about baths though I rarely get time to soak in the tub. But when I do, I like it to be hot enough to turn my skin red.

A hot shower in the morning makes my aching stiff joints feel much better. That and a cup of hot tea are the only things that get me going in the a.m.

Like to soak in a hot bath a couple nights a week too, after a long day of work.

Bath-Song

Sing hey! For the bath at close of day
that washes the weary mud away
A loon is he that will not sing
O! Water Hot is a noble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain,
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better then rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed
but better is beer if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

I'll take my shower at 105º please.

I expect many would laugh that I would know my preferred shower temperature, but it comes from anticipating solar water heating. The incoming water was 60º and I wanted to know the needed gain to get to my preferred temperature--so I took the temperature of my preferred shower water hence the 105º.

Trust me. You just don't realize how good a hot bath or shower can be, until you have had a major surgery on your foot and arm, and cannot get into a tub or shower for 4 months. It was heaven finally being able to slip into a hot bath. And then after 5 months the hot shower. I stayed in them for an hour.

Are you proofing yeast at 135º? Sound too hot to me for that purpose as I'd be afraid of killing the yeast.
nope - the recipe I use you just mix the yeast in with the dry ingredients, then add the hot water, then finish adding flour. I'm not sure if it is due to our high altitude, or that the yeast does not get proofed, but it works well and the recipe is SO easy.
