Local production of foods makes more sense than ever. The Penn State Cooperative Extension in collaboration with CEED of Allegheny College will present the Income Opportunities in Agriculture Conference on Saturday, January 24, 2009, at Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. The conference will include speakers and exhibitors from Northwestern Pennsylvania. Whether you have thought about farming or want to add to the value of your existing farm, this program is for you! Penn State Cooperative Extension agriculture business educators and local professionals will present topics covering developing an agriculture business plan, financing agricultural enterprises and developing a market. Afternoon sessions will be presented by area farmers and ag-related business professionals who are succeeding in their businesses. They will share the development of their business, the challenges and success stories. The Vegetable session includes tracks covering sustainable vegetable production and shared kitchens. The Livestock and Agritourism track includes pork farming, wool production, and Beds and Breakfasts. Our Innovative Business Tract includes microbrewery, growing energy crops and biofuel production. The Income Opportunities in Agriculture Conference will be held on Saturday, January 24, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. Have Questions?
